One thing we can't live without this summer.

This blog post was sponsored by Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen but all opinions expressed are my own.  Through partnerships with brands like this, I am able to keep bringing you content on my blog that I know you'll value.  Please note that I only recommend products that I personally use and love and I always have my readers' best interest at heart.

We've been in our new house for about a month now and there hasn't been a day that has gone by that we haven't spent outside in the sunshine.  Our front yard is fenced in, and we have a trampoline and jungle gym thingy in the backyard, so basically, we spend most of our time outside, and since we live in Southern California, the sun is usually always there with us.

Since I grew up at the beach, I've always had about 700 bottles of sunscreen around the house, but when Finn was born, it all changed.  First-time mom here, concerned about every single thing that went in or on his body, I quickly checked every bottles ingredient list and had no clue what would be harmful to him.

So obviously when I planned our first trip to the beach when Finn was about 3 months old, one of the first questions I actually asked my pediatrician was what sunscreen he recommended.  Vitamin D and being outside is what fuels me, so I knew I would be outside with Finn and I was terrified of burning his little fragile skin.  His firm response came quickly, and he said Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen was every moms go-to and one he highly recommends.  I immediately ordered it on Amazon Prime and we now use Blue Lizard Sunscreen for the whole house, all the time.  It's the best.

Why? You Ask... well, let me tell you.  Top 5 reasons we can't live without Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen in our house this summer:

The bottle is magic.  It's just like those alarm clocks that turn green when your little ones can get out of bed.  The bottle turns blue the moment UV rays hit it.  It could be in your bag in the shade and those little rays of sunshine can break through that.  Finn actually knows that when the bottle is blue, it's time to put the "ice cream" (aka sunscreen) on.

It's not clumpy.  There's nothing worse than having a toddler at the beach, ready to play and it takes you 45 min to apply the thick layer of white gooey sunscreen.  Blue Lizard Australian sunscreen is easy to apply and doesn't leave your little looking like he just got out of a yogurt bath.

It lasts and lasts.  You know those sunscreens that you look at your child after 2 runs through the sprinklers and you feel like you need to reapply?
Not, Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen.  I feel like one full coat, protects even after we've been at the beach for hours.

It's strong.  We use the SPF 30, and it protects up to 97% of the UV rays that are coming to get ya! Yes, yes, back in the day, I use to love oiling up to hit the pool and just bake in the suns rays.  Now, I am getting older and I am always concerned about what my skin will look like when I'm 50 or 60, so Instead of reaching for the SPF 5 (jk), I reach for something that actually protects my skin.

It's a mineral based sunscreen, vs chemical based.  Ok, truth be told I'm not a scientist, so I took some of this off of their website so it makes actual sense.  Mineral based sunscreen provides a top layer to protect the skin from the harmful UV rays from entering your skin and chemical based sunscreens can actually absorb into your skin which allows the UV rays to also get into your skin and burn you.

If you've been following for a while, you know I love the beach and hot weather, but we're on our 5th day of record-breaking heat here and I'm finding any way possible to keep us cool, and that means running through the sprinklers, or heading to anywhere there is water, the beach or a friends pool.  And one thing is for sure, Blue Lizard  Australian sunscreen is always in my bag!
